Scott Allan was sent out on-loan by Brendan Rodgers to get game time and show what he can do but so far the jury is out on the midfielder if you ask his current boss Alan Stubbs.

Rotherham has been struggling since the start of the season and the former Celtic defender felt it necessary to drop Scott in order for him to have a think about his attitude and current form.

Speaking to the Sheffield Star Stubbs was straight forward in his assessment.

“The one thing I expect is 100 per cent commitment. I want to see that players care. I want to see character.

“If they give me that, then if they have a poor game I can accept that all day long.

“Nobody can play brilliantly every week. I understand that. That’s life.

“An element of Scott not being in the squad against Cardiff was a reaction to what I saw against Blackburn (a week earlier).

“We just left him out of the squad to reflect on his performances. He’s someone we feel has a lot more to offer than he is showing right now.”
