The squad trimming process that Ronny Deila is currently undertaken has claimed another casualty. This time it’s Holmbert Fridjonsson who has seen his time at Celtic cut short.

The 22-year-old who joined up with Neil Lennon’s Celtic back in 2013 never made a single first team appearance for the club and last season was loaned out to Brondby where he failed to make an impact.

He has now signed a deal with KR Reykjavik which will see him move on when the Icelandic transfer window opens up in mid July.

Ronny is being relentless in getting rid of dead wood from the squad which has already seen flop strikers Teemu Pukki and Amido Balde head for the exit. Holmbert now joins them on that list and we’res ure there will be a few more to follow before the end of August.
