STUART ARMSTRONG looks set to end speculation over his future by signing a new four-year-deal with the Scottish Champions.

There has been protracted negotiations with Celtic and the midfielders representatives, going back to before the end of the season but it all looks to be falling into place.

The Scottish playmaker has been a revelation under Brendan Rodgers after toiling under former manager Ronny Deila. The current Celtic manager is keen to get this particular bit of business wrapped up so he can push on with new face coming in.

Speaking about a new deal Armstrong was more than positive and admitted his delight at his current club.

“It is the happiest I have been in my footballing career,” said the midfielder.

“That has shown on the park and I am very happy and playing well. I am playing some of the best football of my life. I am very, very happy.”

Brendan Rodgers has given his list of targets to the board who are actively working on the Irishman’s wish list. There’s going to be some movement in the coming days/week.
