UEFA have posted 60 of the best goals in European competition on their website as part of their 60th anniversary celebrations and a Celtic goal has made it into that list.
The goal was during Celtic’s home tie against Manchester Utd on the 21st November 2006 – Shunsuke Namakura scored an absolute belter of a free kick to send Celtic through to the last 16 of the Champions League with a game to spare.
Nakamura was famous for his set pieces and lit up Celtic Park and away grounds on a regular basis with free kicks like this.
Other goals on the list include Zidane’s goal against Leverkusen at Hampden in the Champions League final and Thierry Henry for Arsenal.
