Celtic will help pay tribute to former Hoops Goalkeeper Artur Boruc by participating in a pre-season friendly in Poland against Legia Warsaw.

Artur finished up with the polish side in the summer but now they want to recognise his efforts by inviting Celtic over to celebrate the goalkeeper.

Ange Postecoglou and his team will travel to Poland as part of their pre-season and take part in what should be a fun match.

Legia and Celtic don;t have the best of histories. The polish side soundly beat Celtic in a Champions League qualifier back under Ronny Deila but were kicked out of the competition for fielding an ineligible player.

At the time, UEFA made it clear Celtic must get put through to the next round. It prompted a major effort by Legia with the hashtag #letfootball win. The club also too their grievance to the court of sporting arbitration at the time.

It looks like wounds have been healed if Celtic have been invited. It’s likely Artur has asked for his former club to be a part of the proceedings.

Fans who watched Artur in his prime for Celtic have great memories of him. He definitely lived up to the stereotype that goalkeepers are a bit mad.
