REPORTS earlier in the week suggested Celtic had a bid accepted for former Dundee Utd man Barry Douglas.

The defender who left United for Lech Poznan and since linked up with Turkish side Konyaspor wants to move back to the U.K but it’s unlikely to be with Celtic according to the Konyaspor President Ahmet San.

“Barry wants to leave, that’s true. But we are unable to agree on a deal with Celtic. Wolves are ready to pay what we want for him, and he’s likely to join that team for next season. We wish him the best for the future.” said Ahmet San

Barry is a left back and with Celtic already having two very competent players in that position it would seem a bit strange for the club to sink any decent money into landing the player.

  1. Paper talk not worth the money they r asking dont need a left young calvin miller is a gd young prospect 2 challenge keirney and izzy no need

  2. Bang on , stupid mischievous paper talk , we wouldn’t have been interested in this player attall, well covered at both full back slots

  3. Why would a Celtic website even report this. It is clearly nonsense. Why would Celtic be interested in a left back? Izzy is still there. One other site have accused the Turks of trying to get more money out of Wolves with a made up story. More likely to be the player’s agent though.

  4. Because the people that write for these websites like to think they are important and keep their site profiles up when most of the time they spend trawling unworthy journalists for any snippets of nonsense they can pick up

  5. However to appease fans who maybe unhappy with the club’s ambitions when signing a player .. tell them Celtic are interested also … they know a bargain when they see it.
