It is the return of the top flight Celtic vs Hearts fixture since they came out of administration and admirably won the Championship last season on a manageable budget.

They are now back in the big time and after a great start they have fell away.

Leigh Griffiths will return after missing the Scottish League Cup win over Raith Rovers. Nadir Ciftci was given game time during the week as he looks to get match sharp.

Belgian midfielder Arnaud Djoum may make to make his Hearts debut this afternoon.

Hearts also progressed to the next round of the League Cup and will be fired up coming to Celtic park.

Ronny Deila spoke about Hearts earlier this week.

“It’s a big club coming up which is good for everybody and so far they’re starting well and they show that they are going to be on the upper half of the table and they can do very well, so it’s going to be a tough game.”

While it will be a tough game the stats say differently.

Celtic have won their last 10 games against The Jambos, scoring 35 goals in the process and conceding only two.

Food for thought for both managers.
