We have very little time for social media commentary on Celtsarehere, but we do pick our spots with regards to some of the absolute absurdities you find on the web.

Yesterday, we saw two comments from two separate people on Celtic’s Champions League Ads lighting up Glasgow after they qualified for Europe’s elite competition.

If you’re not sure what we’re on about, quickly after the final whistle in Kazakhstan, back home in Glasgow, Celtic had tasked a digital ad firm with sticking up Champions League ads throughout the city.

These giant billboards have sent some rival fans into absolute meltdown with one insisting Celtic’s use of these ads was akin to North Korea.

Your man below thinks that the antagonistic billboards should fall under the jurisdiction of the law, as it’s a blatant attempt to be antagonistic.

We at Celtsarehere feel their pain and would like to condemn these ads by Celtic publicly. There was no need to do this at all because everybody already knows – Glasgow is Green and White.

  1. What a great move by Celtic. They should continue to put such adverts up as it encourages the youth to support the green half of Glasgow. Far better to get them while they are young.

    However if complaints are the way forward I have one no two in fact firstly they have a bloody nerve moaning about Celtic’s ads when they insulated my eyesight when they put ads o the tv
    Secondly how dare they just formed in 2012 who the hell do they think they are also wasn’t sevco (rangers) supposed to be banned from Europe for three years pointless when in the lower leagues should be from now also they have not yet in my mind served their ban on transfers (they signed out of contracts free transfers)

Being in Toronto, Canada I have seen over the last few years, similar billboards celebrating potential exciting big games & championship runs for the Toronto Blue Jays (baseball), Toronto Maple Leafs (hockey), and Toronto FC (football). They seem to help energize and unite the city. The only difference being however is that there is only one Toronto team in each of these sports. Glasgow having more than one team, I can see how this could be construed as antagonistic. Well too bad. HH

  22. What I find incredible is that they feel so aggrieved by the posters that they feel some sort of law (natural or otherwise) must have broken in the process. Somehow their world has been turned upside down, the old certainties are gone. How awful if he finds out his boss goes to mass!
