CHELSEA MANAGER Antonio Conte hasn’t given up hope on Dominic Solanke signing a new Chelsea deal but understands the forwards position.

The 19-year-old has decided to run his Chelsea deal down so he can move on in search of first team football this summer. Celtic had been alerted to his availability over two months ago and have reportedly held talks with the young forward’s representatives.

Conte remains respectful of the Dominic’s wishes.

“I think for a young player to stay in a great team like Chelsea is a great opportunity.” said Conte

“You have to respect his decision. I have spoken with him to try to understand his will. It is normal. We must have a great respect for every decision.

‘‘His contract expires in June and he has the full will to stay in Chelsea or to go away.”
