Craig Gordon has signed a two year pay as you play deal with Celtic after impressing Ronny Deila and Goalkpeeping coach Stevie Woods.

The former Hearts goalkeeper has been without a club for a considerable time after being released by Sunderland.

The Scot had moved to the Stadium of Light in a £9m deal from Hearts in 2007 by Roy Keane and did impress until his unfortunate injury problems.

The goalkeeper is no doubt talented but it remains to be seen if he can stay injury free to be a real asset to Celtic.

If Ronny is ready to put his trust in the 31 year old then it may spell the end for Fraser Forster who has been attracting interest from abroad.

If a large enough bid comes in for the big goalkeeper it’s thought he would be keen on a move away from Celtic Park with Athletico Madrid among others interested in his services.

Craig Gordon will now fly out to Celtic’s Austria training camp to meet his new team-mates and get ready for the season ahead.

However is Forster does end up staying on at Celtic Park then it will surely spell the end for Lukasz Zaluska who has been back up or the club since Gordon Strachan was in charge.

This is Ronny Deila’s first senior signing and he’s now looking to press on and add to his squad with wide men a top priority.
