DAVID MARSHALL has announced that he’s retired from the Scottish National team, after bringing some great moments to the country. The goalie has been capped forty-seven times for his nation.

After being a key man for Steve Clarke, effectively getting Scotland into the delayed Euro Championships last year, saving that penalty against Serbia, he’s fallen out of favour with Craig Gordon regaining the gloves. The last time the goalkeeper featured for Scotland was against Croatia last summer, in a 3-1 loss.

Marshall has recently joined Hibs, where he’ll likely end his playing career. He’s signed a two-year deal, which will see the Scotsman stay at Easter Road until he’s 39.

Celtic will likely come up against David Marshall next season, who’ll be between the sticks in what could be a new-look Hibs side.

It’ll be interesting to watch the Scottish National Team, with Craig Gordon also ageing. Currently, no younger keepers are contesting for a place in the starting eleven, a worrying thought for some Scotland fans.

However, there are a few highly rated players at the youth level. Fans of the Scottish National Team will be hoping that they can live up to their potential and take over the gloves when it’s necessary.
