FORMER CELTIC TARGET Rivaldo Coetzee has opened up about his failed medical and how his dream move came crashing down around him.

The young centre back who Brendan Rodgers was keen to sign this summer was left deflated after a thorough Celtic medical revealed a broken bone. Rivaldo is still not certain about the conclusion of the medical.

“As far as I can tell, they said it’s a broken bone. I don’t exactly know what bone. I was [surprised]. I have twisted my ankle a couple of times, so I have had problems with it. I have been strapping it but I did not know that it was this serious.” the South African admitted.

“I was upset when they told me what happened. To think I have been playing with it for quite a while only to find out at the last minute that there is something wrong.”

Coetzee then made a deadline day move to Sundowns, a local South African club. While it was not his dream move to Europe the player was delighted with the move but has his eyes set on a move in the future.

“I just have to keep my head up. Hopefully, the opportunity [to go overseas] will come again.”

Will Celtic come again in January?

  1. This is very good news. Callum deserves this new contract. In my opinion he is an excellent and creative player and has been underrated in the past.

Off topic, I had to gently chastise a dog owner this morning as he did not immediately pick up the said dog’s Naymar, which was deposited in a small grassy area where children often play. He did, of course, dispose of the Naymar after my gentle rebuke.
