As he was being stretchered off on Wednesday night with his head in his hands many Celtic fans feared the worst but it looks like Mikael Lustig will make a quick recovery.

The player pulled up towards the end of the Champions League qualifier with Malmo and looked to be suffering from a hamstring problem. At today’s press conference Ronny Deila told the media that he will be back sooner than expected and could be in contention for the return leg although they won’t take any chances.

This is great news for Celtic as Mikael Lustig is one of their top defenders and has had a harsh time with injury in the recent past. Many speculated that if his injury was a long term deal his Celtic career could have been over.

Great boost for Celtic that he will be back soon even if he misses the qualifier next week. Saidy Janko is expected to start in his place, tomorrow against Dundee Utd.
