Henrik Larsson has stepped down as Head Coach of Swedish side Falkenberg.

The Celtic legend who was linked with the Celtic managers job in the summer has decided to end his stay at Falkenberg although it’s not clear what his reasons are at this point.

Larsson defied the odds by keeping his team up this season working with a very small budget.

Here is a translated statement from the clubs website :

Henrik Larsson has informed us that he will not extend the contract.  We would have liked to continue but respect obviously his decision.

We would like to thank Henrik Larsson for a very good work done as coach of Falkenberg FF. We’ve got to know an amazing person and we wish him luck in the future and hope and believe he will preserve this year in Falkenberg in his heart.

There are rumours in Sweden that Henrik could be in line for the Helsinborg job, where he could end up managing his son Jordan.
