Ange Postecoglou was asked about his squad depth and if he was spoiled for choice after seeing his side beat Norwich comfortably.

The Australian’s Celtic side beat the English club 2-0 and managed to see out the game with a plethora of changes in the second half.

The Celtic manager gave an interesting response to squad depth suggesting he might not be done just yet in the transfer window.

“I don’t see it that way of being spoiled for choice,” Postecoglou told Glasgow Times.

Watch:

“So we want to avoid that this season. In many respects we got away with it last season. In terms of the league, the Champions League and the cup competitions this season we want all of our players to be healthy so to have that will spread the burden amongst them.”

There are some players who could be shipped out in the coming weeks. We still have over a month before the transfer window closes and plenty of time to do deals should opportunities present themselves.

Jullien was brought in as a second half sub against Norwich, but his future is still in doubt.

Ange is deadly serious about having the size of squad who won’t skip a beat between midweek European games and then back to domestic business. It’s going to be a hard juggling act and the manager seems set in chapping on Michael Nicholson’s door again before the end of August.

  1. We need to sign 3 players imo, a Centre Forward, a Right Winger, and a Right Midfielder; 2 of the 3 probably need to be Scottish reared, and better than players we have(which presents its own problems) to get around the UEFA CL 25 man squad regulations.

This obviously would mean some of the Scottish players we currently have being moved on.

Imo McCarthy and Johnston could be replaced from the Scottish contingent, and Jullien from our internationals, to create 3 squad places for the CL.
