MORITZ JENZ genuinely seems delighted to be pulling on the green and white jersey. Having spoken to the big man at a fan media press conference and witnessed his enthusiasm for the club, we really hope he can be a success in Glasgow.

The Greman defender got a short second-half role against Norwich, looking very tidy in possession. There wasn’t much to do defending wise, but he acquitted himself very well.

Celtic fans want to see more of him and what exactly he can do. There are calls for Jenz to start the game against Aberdeen in front of Stephen Welsh. Car Starfelt is still out with an injury with no sign of a return on the horizon.

Celtic have a hectic August before the Champions League games start. If Ange sees Jenz as the man to ultimately go alongside CCV, he might want to start the defender sooner rather than later.

Even if Carl returns in the next week or so, the Swede has had no pre-season at all and will have to get up to speed with the rest of the squad before properly retuning.

It’s interesting times at Celtic.
