It now looks very likely Moritz Jenz is on his way to Celtic after reports surfaced on Monday evening.

French publication L’Equipe were first off the mark with the bit of transfer news and now Mark Hendry, who has been throwing out a number of Celtic’s exclusives lately, has revealed the Hoops are closing in on a loan deal for the defender.

Moritz was wanted at Celtic last summer but moved to FC Lorient in League One. The German has had a less than ideal first season with the French side and is now looking to kick start his career somewhere new.

Celtic and Ange Postecoglou have been putting the loan system to good use over the past 12 months. Bringing players in, making them better and then signing them to permanent deals.

Both Jota and CCV signed full time deals with the Scottish Champions after successful loan spells.

Hendry claims the two clubs are still negotiating a first option clause before the deal can officially go through.

The journalists also writes Jenz is expected to join Aaron Mooy at the club this week as the bhoys step up their preparations.
