It has emerged tonight that Kolo Toure could be ready to rejoin his former Liverpool manager at Celtic after talks re-opened between the two parties.

Celtic were said to be interested last month but had been put off by wage demands as well as Kolo still weighing up his own options.

With many fans getting frustrated at the lack of transfer activity it would seem the club are also getting frustrated in their pursuit of Rodgers top targets but may be ready to cut a deal with the experienced defender.

Celtic are certainly in need of some experience, especially at the back but Kolo Toure is no stranger to a moment of madness and it remains to be seen if the free transfer would be a good move for Celtic.

With the club able to add a ‘wildcard’ pick into their Champions League squad by Monday, if they sign the player before then he WOULD be eligible to play, although this would be unlikely with very little prep time and lack of fitness.

Would you be happy with Kolo Toure signing?

  1. I would be very happy if he signed.Class act who would fit in perfect with our defence.Sinclair is also expected to sign

  2. No. Toure would be a desperation signing . We have been let down once again by a Celtic board who treat the fans with total disrespect. They continue to destroy dreams with their total lack of vision.

  3. Board just need to get their finger out. This current team will be dumped out of Europe fairly quickly. They have already shown they are not good enough, There is no magic wand going to make them play better. They need three or four good signings. Most at the back and a creative midfielder.

  4. I have never forgiven Lawwell for not signing Steven Fletcher from Hibs in Gordon Strachans last season at Celtic, and handing the league title to Rangers. Brendan Rodgers cannot be blamed if Celtic don’t qualify for the group stages of the Champions league.

  5. I don’t think you can blame the board for all of this Rogers doesn’t seem to understand he is managing in Scotland, yes we would like all the players he wants to sign in but the realty is ether they don’t want to play in Scotland or there wage bill is to high, what this means we run out of time, just like now the other mob have signed six or seven players it gives them a boost before the session starts we get nothing, he has to look for potential good players young who want to prove them self players at the top of there game who we can sign, get them in ASAP and start to work with them maybe two big names as big as we can afford stop dreaming of top flight players from down south who he worked with but want huge wages give the fans something to shout about we came out and showed our support by buying our session tickets.

  6. How many times is this board going to shir on us so angry want to throw away season ticket been following Celtic over 60yrs my heart wont let me stop sign toure need CB and also class forward pls HH

  7. Think the board need to do more, and start spending some decent money on the defence, specially a center back. And a creative midfielder also needed. I know it must be hard to attract player due to high wage demands, and also transfer fees, but just don’t think the current squad are good enough for any kind off assault on Europe at the moment. Hail ! Hail !

  8. Shocking signing. Toure will only prove to be a more experienced, more expensive, older, Efe Ambrose.
Can I assume Carlton Cole and Freddy Lunberg are also signing today?
Does anyone know if Michael Owen is available??
    Typical Lawwell.
