As we reported yesterday Adam Matthews looks set to fulfil his Premiership ambition after Celtic tonight reportedly have accepted a bid for his services from Sunderland.
The fee is believed to be around £2million with future add ons and sell on clause.
The Premiership side managed by former Rangers boss Dick Advocaat are keen on the right back as they look to better their poor position in England’s top flight.
Celtic yesterday signed right back Saidy Janko from Manchester Utd anticipating Matthews departure. if he moves on it frees up space in the squad as well as money for Ronny Deila to use elsewhere.

Adam Matthews has been a fantastic servant to the club and you’ll be hard pressed to find a fan that’s happy that he’s leaving but if the player wants to go and you have a surplus amount in that position then all parties can win.
The Welshman was part of that famous night at Celtic Park when Barcelona fell in front of 60,000 passionate supporters. At the age of 23 he still has plenty more to offer despite niggling injuries and if Sunderland complete the deal they are getting a great player.
