Brendan Rodgers has been striving to build on the team he inherited last summer, and while he’s improved the team greatly with a couple of signings and some great man management he outlined today his belief that Celtic need quality in the centre of the park.

“We’re covered well in a lot of positions, but I’ve always wanted another midfielder. It has to be someone of real quality, someone who can make a difference.” said the Celtic manager.

“I believe that we need a midfield player who can make a pass and make a difference in the Champions League.”

This will be music to the ears of Celtic fans who are looking for that player, that marquee signing that can take the club to a higher level.

Brendan has laid the foundations and he now want’s to kick on so that we not only qualify for the group stages but become competitive in it.

Onwards and upwards.
