It looks like Ronny Deila is ready to settle his starting XI after weeks of chopping and changing large portions of his side.

The Celtic manager played a much stronger team against Championship side Hearts last night and was rewarded with a comfortable 3-0 win. A much more convincing display than we’d seen at Celtic Park on Sunday against Motherwell.

Ronny realises that he must stick with a nucleus of players and while he can tweak the team here and there he must not make wholesale changes. Teams tend to struggle when those kind of changes are made, although sometimes it can work, unfortunately some of our fringe players are not up to the task.

Ronny was delighted with his sides comprehensive victory over the Jambo’s:

“I’m very pleased, I think we’re going in the right direction” said Ronny.

“What I’m most pleased of is we worked as a team, 11 players who wanted to win the ball and we started to create down the sides, especially with Stokes and Emelio down the left”

Ronny must use the Hearts game as momentum going forward as the fixtures come thick and fast. It’s off to St Mirren park for Celtic next then back to Europa League duty next week.
