CELTIC may have been playing against Irish minnows last night but the performance Scott Sinclair put on against Linfield further cements my belief that the Englishman is easily one of the best Celtic players in the past ten years.

The midfielder had a fantastic debut season, making 44 appearances and netting 23 goals in all competitions.

He shows no signs of slowing down, after opening Celtic’s 17/18 account last week in Ireland and then bagging a brace at home, unlucky not to score his hattrick.

The Celtic fans know a player when they see one, and the 28-year-old continually flying down the wing, running at defenders and getting into scoring positions is so invaluable.

As we look to qualify for the Champions League group stages, Scotty will have to be one of the players on form to do so. Without Patrick Roberts on the other side, a lot of Celtic’s more positive moves came down Sinclair’s wing. Linfield had three players marking the player at one point, trying to shut him down – they failed.

The attacking flair Scott shows on a regular basis is why he is loved among the support. Since coming to Celtic, the former Man City man has been glowing in his praise of the club and fans, who have repeatedly backed him when he’s been subject to the vilest of racist abuse.

Scott has done what every good player does in extreme circumstances, he does his talking on the pitch and hits these people where it hurts the most.

From bursting onto the scene against Hearts last season, the bhoy has gone from strength to strength and is a real gem of a player. Coming into his peak as a footballer in a Celtic jersey should only benefit the club and Scott as we look to progress.

Quite simply, Scotty Sinclair, he is so wonderful.

  1. I love reading the pish English fans day. He failed in England.. I think it’s more he stagnated there he was always a great player and to be honest we got him for a steal ..he said himself he could have went somewhere else in England for more money but came here and it was his best decision because he is loving his footballing life again..he is loved here and as everyone knows that’s more important than money .. maybe he should have a wee word with paddy Roberts and explain to him because he will probably head the same way if he leaves the hoops at this moment

  2. Scott is just the perfect fit for us as we are him, what a player. Not sure how long his deal is but I’d renew asap. WeAreAllScottySinclair.?
