CALLUM MCGREGOR is sometimes underrated by a section of the Celtic support while others sing his praises regularly.

There is no denying, however, that the player has come on leaps and bounds in the past two seasons under Brendan Rodgers and Sunday’s semi final against The Rangers firmly proved that.

Callum and Moussa both put in impressive shifts as Celtic thrashed the Ibrox side 4-0 to reach the final.

When people have spoken about player of the year it’s been about James Forrest and Scott Brown, but for me, Callum should be in the conversation.

This incredible stat means he has a certain amount of bragging rights over the rest of his teammates.

It may seem insignificant, but to perform and score at all these different levels is some special.

Outstanding!

  1. I’ve been a fan of Callum since he scored in Iceland way back when…his movement is awesome, watch him next time you can and while he might always catch the eye you can take his versaltility to the bank. A wonderful wee player who is efficient on all that he does.

  2. A very interesting statistic, scoring in the competitions and a stat that backs up your praise in the player, he truly has had a fantastic season and made an extremely valuable contribution, really has matured into a real Celt and his call up to the international side is entirely justified, a real contender for a player of the year award, Hail Hail , Callum

  3. A few years ago Calum was on loan at Notts.County.It was obvious that he had exceptional skills. Both 6,500 Notts fans and myself wish he could have stopped but we are not surprised that he has progressed to international stardom.Watching the joy on his face when he scored on Sunday was sublime.

  4. Since he missed that sitter in Germany in Europe he has totally turned into one of the first names on the team sheet, he very rarely gives away possession and he loves a goal against the huns , he’s had a belter of a season for us and personally for me it’s BROONY, McGREGOR,TIERNEY for POTY also love his attitude HH
