News broke yesterday in Spain that after many months of speculation Ronny Deila is officially trying to lure his former player Martin Odegaard to Celtic on-loan this season to give the wonder-kid some much needed first team experience.

There has been massive hype surrounding the 16-year-old ever since Ronny gave him a first team start at the age of only 14 and the Celtic manager would love to help the player develop inside the confines of Celtic Park.

Real Madrid are said to be mulling over several offers for the players services with their preference of sending him out on loan to another Spanish club so he can settle in Spain. But that hasn’t stopped Celtic asking the question and it would prove an intriguing proposition to Real Marid to loan him to a manager that knows all about the youngster.

Reports say Celtic are hopeful but this is still a massive long shot on Celtic’s part. Our gut feeling is he will stay in Spain but you just never know.

Another player Celtic are in hot pursuit of is the Dundee Utd Nadir Ciftci. A lot has been made of Celtic’s opening two offers which have been thrown out by the Tannadice club. Celtic now look to table another bid but are reluctant to match the £1.5million offered by Wigan last week. In plain terms if Celtic want this player that badly he will be in the door before the end of the window. Much was made last season of GMS and Stuart Armstrong’s move to Celtic which didn’t happen until the final hours of the window but if Celtic have their mind set on the player you can expect another bid will be forthcoming as early as today.

Celtic have made two summer signings so far. Both signings in defence and with a Champions League qualifier looming a week on Wednesday the transfer cat and mouse games will only heat up.
