MARVIN COMPPER has lifted the lid on his failed move to Celtic and insists he’s fit and ready to play but the manager is refusing to pick him.

The German defender was brought in by Celtic in January this year to help add experience to the back line but after sustaining an injury straight away the player has only played 80 minutes of football for Celtic.

Speaking to a German paper ahead of Celtic’s visit to his former side Leipzig the defender has revealed he wants to play and dropped the bombshell that Celtic told him to find a new club in the summer.

“I’m fit and I train very well.” told the German newspaper.

“Even my team-mates do not understand why I do not play.

“In the summer I had a calf injury. I got an athletic trainer and a physio at my own expense and made myself fit.

“Now it is up to the coach Brendan Rodgers to finally give me the trust.

“I still have a contract until 2020, but of course I do not want to sit on the bench.

“In August, Celtic suggested to me about a change of club. But I do not want to move on so easily.

“I hope for my chance and want to play.”

Brendan Rodgers obviously believes Marvin is of no use to the team and the German will go down as an expensive blunder when all said and done.

  1. Send Marvin back to play guitar with the Shadows. No sense in keeping him if he wants to leave. Even though he’s a shoe in for any cup game in Scotland until 2020.

  2. This guy seems to have no honour or dignity.
He has done nothing and does not have the stomach for work.
It is theft – as simple as that.
