CELTIC will welcome another midfielder into their ranks this week with the transfer of Maryan Shved set to be finalised. The young winger was a reported target for the last week or so and Brendan Rodgers confirmed this was the case, although he conceded he didn’t know much about the player but trusted his scouting team.

Maryan will leave Karpaty Lviv will leave the club to join up with his new teammates before the deadline. It’s likely the winger will head straight for the developmental team where he will be trained up and ready to go for next season.

With a reported outlay of £1.75million, it’s a lot of money for Celtic to spend on a player who won’t see any first-team action this season.

The Bhoy’s are still in the hunt for more players, but if no deals get over the line, the Celtic manager told fans over the weekend he would be happy with his squad if there were no more signings.
