PATRICK ROBERTS has told Celtic fans he sees his future away from the club after this season.

The midfielder dropped the bombshell on some of the fans who still held out hope that he would sign on a permanent basis this summer.

Celtic tried to sign Paddy on a permanent deal last year but their advances were rebuffed by Man City.

Due to injury and James Forrest’s form this season, the Englishman has seen very little game time and he wants to make up for lost time next season in the Premier League.

“You have to look at the bigger picture, for myself, I have bigger ambitions in my head and the places I want to be”

“I need to come out my comfort zone and try and reach some targets”

“But nonetheless playing for Celtic has been a dream come true, I’ve enjoyed every minute”

When asked if he wants to play in the Premier League next season the midfielder replied:

“Hopefully, being an English player and coming through the system my goal is to play for a top team in the Premier League”

  1. Never happened for Paddy in Season 2. Doubt he will play for as big a club as Celtic again. He will cost a relegation battler about 12 million from City. He will be at Watford, West Ham or a Brighton in August but might have to make do with a Championship club.

  2. I wish Paddy all the very best in his new horizons.
He did well by us in coming back for a second loan spell. I wish it had been permanent, but my best wishes will go with him. He represented us well, with skill and dignity, whilst showing a passion for playing. Unfortunately, his injury put a dampener on his season, for him and us.
You will always remain part of the family Paddy and you will never walk alone.

    Hail, hail.

  3. I wish Paddy all the best for the future he is a class act. This season has been a nightmare for him but I hope celtic done all they could to keep him because imho he is far better than anybody we have for that position at the moment. I won’t name any players but if a certain player who was nominated for POTY thinks this years performances are good enough to take us to a better level will need to think again as the recent games against hibs and Killie at home will testify that he won’t get away with 1 or 2 good games in 5 next season especially in Europe. Good bless Paddy it was a pleasure for us to see you in the hoops
