It has been a long time coming but the end looks in sight now for Celtic’s Dedryck Boyata as he gets prepared to sign a lucrative deal elsewhere.

Boyata wanted a move at the start of this season and with the player being on the last year of his contract many believed the club would cash in on him. However, Brendan Rodgers insisted on keeping the Belgian at the club and after fall out between Boyata and Rodgers they both got on with it after the summer window.

Since then, Boyata has been professional and for the most part, has played well for the Scottish Champions. The defender limped off during Celtic’s win over The Rangers back in March and has not been in the Hoops since. It’s thought his last appearance at Celtic Park will be to do the lap of honour on trophy day.

According to reports from SunSport, the defender is about to sign a £40kpw deal with Hertha Berlin. Money Celtic wouldn’t be able to offer the 28-year-old.
