Liam Henderson is back in Edinburgh and training with Hibernian ahead of the new season.

The player spent a season on-loan at Easter Road a couple of years back.

The midfielder now plays his football in Italy but his future has been in doubt since Bari found themselves in financial peril.

The former Celtic academy player has done really well in Serie B to the point there are a number of Serie A sides pondering a move for the Scot. Reports in Italy claim Bari turned down a £2million bid for Liam from Fiorentina and are desperate to hang onto him.

Apparently, Liam training at Hibs is just the player keeping his fitness up while he’s back in Scotland – there is no sign of Neil Lennon trying to sign him up.

The Italian league doesn’t kick off until mid-August and Bari’s pre-season isn’t for a few yet.
