CELTIC could be set to put Celtic midfielder Eboue Kouassi out on loan in what would be the first step in getting the player off the wage bill as well as trimming the squad.

Scott Sinclair has already left because he was deemed surplus to requirements by the Celtic boss. Lewis Morgan is about to follow and Eboue Kouassi could be another one Celtic look to get rid of in this window according to SunSport.

The player has only managed 22 appearances for the Hoops in all competitions since signing three years ago. Eboue’s current stretch of time at the club marred by a horrible injury picked up very early last season in the League Cup.

According to Transfermarkt, the final fee Celtic paid for the defensive midfielder was £3.15m – a large amount of cash to waste on a player who hasn’t make the grade. In terms of cost, Kouassi could be Brendan Rodgers worst buy during his time at Celtic.

  1. To be fair to the guy he never really got a decent chance to give it a go injuries certainly not helping his cause. In the game he played in Europe at CP he had a more than decent game and the hearts game when he got injured he was looking pretty decent. I hope I’m wrong but my gut feeling is if we sign the bhoy Soro we are signing a like for like player and spending more money on a “here’s hoping” player without giving Kouassi a real good chance injury free
