CELTIC were held to a draw by Hibernian at Easter Road this afternoon. The poor performance means the hoops could find themselves just one point ahead at the end of the day.

After growing into the game towards the end of the second half, Postecoglou’s men struggled to find anything to show for it.

It has turned into a bad week for Celtic after they extended their gap at the top of the table. A loss in Norway and a draw in Edinburgh will overshadow last weekend’s highs.

Jota Struggled

Ever since the talk of extending his stay beyond summer surfaced, the winger has struggled to find the form he showed before Christmas. Cutting inside, he hasn’t shown his sharpness for a few games now.

Maeda and Hatate are fatigued.

Two of Ange’s three Japanese signings have played an entire season, and the Olympics games, before transferring to Scotland. Today’s performance highlights this. Both players looked fatigued and had run out of legs. Postecoglou may not feel he has the luxury to give them a rest, but he must facilitate this. With ten league games left, it is unlikely both will be able to feature in most of these, never mind the Scottish Cup games.

Postecoglou Has to Turn to his Bench

Ange only turned to his bench once throughout the game. This was criminal with the talent on the bench and players who could have changed the game. It was clear things weren’t going our way. The pace and skill of Karamoko could have positively impacted the game. Ideguchi also spent the ninety-minutes watching from the side.
