REPORTS today suggest John McGinn is to have talks with Aston Villa ahead of a potential move to the club.

The Hibernian midfielder has been subject of three failed bids from Celtic this summer but apparently Villa are ready to match Hibernian’s £4million valuation.

If a bid is accepted then it will be up to the player himself to thrash out terms with the English club.

McGinn is a former Celtic season ticket holder and people close to the player say his preferred destination is the Scottish Champions.

No fourth bid has been forthcoming at this point with Celtic wary of paying over the top for a player who they can sign on a pre-contact in January.

If Celtic officials get wind that McGinn is prepared to head to England, the club may try one last time to test Hibs resolve.

  1. Four Million, nice. So I take it that John should pack his bags and head aff tae Birmingham. I’m certain he will enjoy the challenge of the Premier down there. Good move for him and Hibs will spend some of the cash on transfer’s. To share up their defence. They may even pry some of the U23’s fae Celtic.
