Celtic fans will obviously be focused on recruitment rather than the players edging towards the Celtic exit over the next two months. However, given we’re now in the beginning of June we have a number of Celtic players who’ve now officially entered the final year of their Parkhead deals.

From a first team point of view — there’s nothing too concerning about the players who could run down their deals between now and next summer. But it does give Celtic and Ange Postecoglou some decisions to make.

The most expensive player with just one-year left on his hoops deal is Christopher Jullien. The player hasn’t featured under Ange Postecoglou after coming back from injury in late January. Chris vocalised his discontent back in May and his exit seems inevitable.

The Frenchman will be free to speak to other clubs in January and sign a pre-contract. With that in mind, Celtic should be pushing to sell Jullien this summer to recoup some of the big money they paid for the defender under Neil Lennon.

The Bhoys paid £7m for the player to bring him in from Toulouse [BBC] back in 2019 and he was heavily featured in the Celtic first team until an unfortunate injury sidelined the big defender for over a year.

Chris has been part of some big moments and you could argue Celtic have certainly got their moneys worth since the player was signed but to see a £7m investment walk out the door next summer for nothing would be a bad business move.

If Ange doesn’t have a space for Chris in the team, selling him for £2-3m in the summer window would be best for all concerned.
