Celtic defender Chloe Warrington has urged Hoops fans not too miss out on the opportunity to watch Fran Alonso’s Women’s side face off against Hibernian in the SWPL later this month, as the Ghirls get set to take to Parkhead.

Just a matter of weeks ago, the club officially confirmed that they would be fulfilling their season ticket promise at the beginning of the campaign by allowing supporters to turn out at Celtic Park to watch the women’s side in action.

Speaking in a press conference yesterday afternoon, with season ticket holders able to pick up a free ticket for the match, which takes place on the 26th of March, Warrington urged supporters not to miss out and show their support for the Ghirls.

“I would say to them; it’s a totally different experience to a men’s game. It’s unique in its own way. And I would definitely encourage fans to come along and see us.

“It’s a completely opposite half from the men; it’s another part of Celtic. People can bring along their kids and anybody. Anyone behind us is definitely a bonus.”

“When there was 3,500 fans [in the League Cup Final], that benefitted every single player in the squad. You know, the more the noise, the more we get up for it as well.

“When we get out there, and we hear people cheering, it gives you some sort of belief within you that you might not have before you step out on that pitch.

“If we can get 10 or 15,000 people there, it would be unbelievable.”

It won’t be the first time Fran Alonso and his side will take to the Paradise surface, having defeated Rangers 1-0 on home soil last campaign.

However, it will be the first opportunity with fans after that game took place behind closed doors due to the Covid restrictions at that point in time.

We would definitely recommend any Celtic supporter with the opportunity to do so take up the opportunity to watch them in action on the weekend of the 26th of March.

It will be well worth the afternoon and a great opportunity to take in the Hoops during the next international break at Paradise as they continue their push in the league.
