BRENDAN RODGERS seems keen on retaining the services of Scott Bain after his loan ends this summer.
The Irishman has had lengthy chats with the goalkeeper about what’s expected of him and handling pressure at a club like Celtic and admitted he’s been very impressed.
“I’ve spoken to Scott at length about the opportunity he could have here.
“For me, in terms of how we work, he’s perfect. His first game for us at Ibrox was a wonderful demonstration of personality, technique and composure under pressure.”
Bain has the chance to make himself number one choice at the club but will have to put in a string of top performances together in the coming weeks with Craig Gordon looking to be back fit by the middle of April.
The goalkeeper’s Dundee contract runs out at the end of the season and Bain is free to talk to any other club about a pre-contract.
A deal could be done within weeks which would make Bain Celtic’s first summer signing.
Should Celtic snap him up?
