NEIL LENNON has described Hibs as being in a ‘difficult position’ regarding John McGinn.

The Irishman has admitted that with his midfielder entering the last year of his contract and with so much interest in his services it will be hard to keep a hold of him this summer.

“John’s got a year left on his contract and that puts us in a difficult position, but we’ll see what the future brings — we can’t predict what’s going to happen.

“If we can’t keep key players then we look to build again. That can be difficult and frustrating but we’ve set a good bar and that’s the aim for next year.

Celtic have been linked with the player long term but have been reluctant to pull the trigger.

Hibs have also been asking a high transfer fee until now but may have to lower their demands if the player can sign a pre-contract with another club in January.
