CHRIS SUTTON has confirmed the sad and shocking news he has received death threats in the wake of the Glasgow Derby at the end of December.

The outspoken pundit has been a positive voice within Scottish football, helping promote the game in any way he can and regularly defends it to others.

One thing you cannot accuse Sutton of is showing bias. He tears into his old club Celtic as well as any other club in the league he believes to be doing things wrong.

Sutton was very vocal about Alfredo Morelos in the immediate aftermath of the Glasgow Derby on the 29th December, and it’s believed shortly after this the death threat was received.

“I don’t want to go into any detail as this is a private matter and it is now in the hands of the police.” Sutton told the Daily Record.

“Suffice to say, I have seen what’s been sent and it wasn’t a particularly pleasant thing to receive.”

A shocking turn of events, Chris will never shirk from an opinion, and we have had many debates with him via social media about his views.

However, the line has been crossed and whoever is responsible must be held accountable.

Chris is set to meet the police today about the message.

  1. Knowing Celtic stance (as well as Suttys) The filth will do nothing. As its not worth reporting, like Bottons report that remains no-existant.
