For some reason, Erik Sviatchenko’s days seemed to be numbered at Celtic Park. While a lot of fans are ready to rip up the Celtic defence and start again, a lot of Celtic fans want Erik to stay.
The Dane is only 26 and was an instant hit when he first arrived at Celtic. He’s had a few games where he was shown up for pace and maybe strength. Excluding Tierney, most Celtic defenders have been shown up a few times already this season.
Injuries have not helped his cause and it is a while since he has had a good run in the team. But are Celtic letting him go too soon? More importantly, who are they going to replace him with. Brendan Rodgers landed Marvin Compper yesterday but at 32 if Celtic get two seasons out of him they will be lucky.
Celtic have been caught out since the start of the season over not having enough cover at the back. Offloading Erik doesn’t seem to make sense at this moment in time. The rumor is Celtic will earn 1.5 Million from a Belgian side.

Agree can’t believe he’s up for transfer he may lack pace but reads game well,and would rather have him than Suminivic,or Boyata sell both of them keep Erik,Ajer and Compper
Big Erik has built a bit of a cult status out of not doing a whole lot on the park. I like the big fella and would be sad to see him go….
