Celtic fans flocked to Glasgow’s Hydro on Thursday evening for a night of laughs, stories and much more.

What was predominantly ‘A Night With Scott Brown and Mikael Lustig’ saw several Celtic favourites past and present make appearances, such as Charlie Mulgrew, Ange Postecoglou and Gordon Strachan.

Liam McGrandles opened the show with some tasteful music before Scott Brown and Mikael Lustig were welcomed to the stage with great applause.

The pair chatted for a while, making humorous quips such as Lustig calling Ibrox a ‘s*** pit’.

Brown was on top form, and he wanted to bring up how he played his part in Celtic’s title win last season, scoring at Ibrox for Aberdeen in a 2-2 draw and helping the Dons to a 1-1 draw against the Gers in January 2022.

Following this, Gordon Strachan made an appearance.

As always, Strachan was at the top of the game, making a few jokes about his son Gavin and his iPad.

Ange Postecoglou was then introduced, and he received a terrific welcome to the stage from the 8-9,000 Celtic fans in the arena who chanted his name.

The Australian chatted about the work of the Celtic FC Foundation in helping to uphold the key founding values of the club.

After this, it was half-time, and for the show’s second half, we saw some Celtic first-team players.

Greg Taylor and Callum McGregor brought on the league and league cup trophies before Scott Bain entered.

This trio sat until the end of the show, along with Charlie Mulgrew and Jozo Simunovic.

Mulgrew spoke about how Brown ended up fighting a kangaroo on a pre-season trip to Australia many years ago, whilst Simunovic reflected upon his iconic header against Kilmarnock on the 67th minute shortly after the passing of Billy McNeil and his strong tackle, which obliterated Kenny Miller in a 2017 Glasgow derby.

The show lasted for around two hours, and at the end of it, there was a performance of You’ll Never Walk Alone, sung at full pelt by everyone in the Hydro.

Those on the stage were given scarves and were in fine voice too.

This was a great end to a night that, for Celtic fans of all ages, was hugely entertaining yet interesting at the same time.

Moreover, the fact all funds raised went to the Celtic FC Foundation is all the more encouraging.
