As most Celtic fans are aware of the club welcomed the Spirit of Shankly Liverpool’s supporters group and Hillsborough survivors to the standing section of Celtic Park on Saturday.
The Liverpool contingent wanted to experience Celtic’s safe standing set up for themselves, and well, it couldn’t have been better received by our visitors.
Speaking to Sky Sports a Hillsborough survivor who has been against the inclusion of any sort of safe standing in UK stadiums had a complete change of mind after spending just 30 minutes inside the stadium.

Since Celtic introduced this, there have been a number of delegations visiting Celtic Park to sample what the standing section can offer and how it can be incorporated in more stadiums going forward.
It’s because of the Celtic fans and the clubs willingness to listen to those fans why Celtic lead the way in this area today.
Since the safe standing area’s inception, it has been a massive hit with most fans from the supporters inside the area to the onlookers who enjoy the atmosphere it creates.
