Brazil-based journalist Tim Vickery has commended Celtic’s loaned player, Alexandro Bernabei, for his standout displays at Internacional. Initially struggling to find his place in Celtic’s lineup, the 23-year-old Argentine left-back was sent to Brazil to gain more playing time. The move paid off—Bernabei has emerged as an attacking powerhouse on the left, catching the eyes of the Brazilian press and Celtic’s coaching staff.

His performances have been pivotal in securing victories for Internacional, showcasing his ability to drive forward and support the defence. Celtic are keeping a close watch on his progress, with questions emerging about whether he fits into Brendan Rodgers’ plans or could be sold for a profit.

So far Alexandro has played 21 games scoring three goals and assisting 4.

Tim Vickery, a well-known authority on South American football, highlighted Bernabei’s influence on social media platform X: “Celtic fans might be interested to know that Bernabei is proving a sensation in Brazil with Internacional. One journo – unaware that he is Argentine – even wanted him to be called up by Brazil.”

With his reputation on the rise, Celtic faces a crucial decision: bring him back into the squad or capitalise on his increased market value. Fans will be watching closely to see what the club decides in the coming months.

Right now, Greg Taylor and Alex Valle are occupying the position with the Celtic manager happy to use both players for different games and scenarios. However, both Valle and Taylor’s future at Celtic beyond this season is up in the air. Valle’s loan deal will be up and some have even suggested he could be recalled in January by Barcelona. Greg Taylor’s deal with the Scottish champions comes to an end in June of next year and unless a new deal is struck he’s able to talk to clubs as early as January.
