Comical defending has cost Celtic dearly again as they conceded their fifth goal from a set-piece in the last nine games. Edouard had given the bhoys an early lead with a great piece of individual skill and finish but after that Celtic went into themselves and invited pressure onto themselves.

A corner from Sparta wasn’t cleared, when Scott Brown fluffed his lines and two Celtic players playing three Sparta players on makes it an easy tap in for the home side in the end.

The half went from bad to worse for Celtic when a long low cross evaded everyone and found it’s way to an onrushing Lukas Julis who had another tap in for the home side.

Embarrassing defending again, no cohesion and it’s the same old stuff bringing Celtic’s season down.

After taking the lead, we have completely and utterly blown our composure. Can it get better in the second half? Who knows.

Supporters have been having their say and Scott Brown is at the heart of their frustration.

  1. Never mind Broonie-what does McGregor do or rather continue not to do to get dropped?.
Mr Anonymous yet again v half decent opposition yet seems to avoid any flak -an everpresent throughout our poor season-coincidence? I think not

  2. Why are we persisting with the same 14 – 15 first team players, when we have a ready made midfield, Turnbull, Soro and Connell and we refuse to play 2 up front ? Our defence is a shambles and continually changing with no consistency. The coaching staff and conservative manager cant seem to or won’t do anything about this. But most of all, a host of spent players, who clearly want out, but are ahead of guys who might at least put 90 mins effort in if given the chance ?

  3. Neil Lennon has been too loyal to a crowd of players who have continually let him down, the lack of movement, concentration and quickness of thought amongst this group is disgraceful but at the end of the day the manager and coaching staff must carry the can.
