KRIS COMMONS has used Aberdeen’s poor home attendance to have a dig at his former boss Ronny Deila and the attendance figures for home games at Celtic Park during the period.

Commons and Deila didn’t see eye to eye which culminated in a very public bust-up during a Europa a League tie away to Molde.

Kris Commons was backed by a lot of Celtic supporters at the time who has since felt let down by the former player’s media persona.

The former midfielder was happy to throw Celtic and players needlessly under the bus for his paymasters. This latest showing is on form with Commons usual stuff about Celtic.

Why he feels the need to include Deila in this is pretty poor.

Speaking about Aberdeen’s attendance, the former Celt called the banners up at the stadium a running joke – not really taking into account he was a focal part of the squad some fans didn’t want to come to pay to see.

“I can vouch for that from my time at Celtic. During Ronny Deila’s second season, the empty seats at Parkhead became a bit of a running joke.” Commons told SunSport.

“The top tier of the stadium would be closed for Europa League games. Flags would be draped over the empty sections to try and hide it.

“It becomes a source of embarrassment. Players aren’t blind. They can see for themselves and are fully aware of what’s going on.

“An empty stadium is a massive problem. It deprives the club of much-needed revenue and it also looks terrible on TV when it comes to attracting new players.”
