Mooy and Ange know each other very well and when Ange was asked about the player earlier this week, the Celtic gaffer didn’t give much away.

Rumours of a potential move for Mooy have always been there. His family is based in Glasgow.

Mike McGrath of the Telegraph Mooy is closing in on a ‘dream move’ to Celtic.

Aaron is now 31, it’s been a long time since he came over from Melbourne City to Manchester City where he was used as a commodity before being sold to Huddersfield for around an £8m fee.

Mooy played with Brighton until 2020 before moving to China after a lucrative offer emerged. The Hoops now look in pole position to sign him.

Would he add experience to this Celtic squad?
