Celtic midfielder Aaron Mooy hailed his teammate Kyogo Furuhashi following his two goals against Rangers in the final of the Viaplay Cup.
Having scored twice against Hibs in the final of the League Cup last season, he once again repeated the feat to show that he is the Hoops talisman on these big occasions.
Although both goals weren’t that special in terms of what he had to do, it was all about the movement from Celtic and the Japanese striker knowing where to be at the right time to stick the ball into the net as the Rangers defence appeared to just freeze.
Mooy played a big part in the final on Sunday and although he doesn’t tend to like the spotlight he reckons it is Kyogo who is the real Invisible Man in the squad as he pops up whenever he is needed.
“If you put the ball in the box, you just know he’s always going to be ready to score. He’s quite amazing, really. You wonder where he is and then, all of a sudden, he’s there,” said Mooy as quoted by the [Daily Record].

“His movement is amazing and defenders just don’t know which way he’s going to go. He must be a nightmare to play against. He’s one of the very best I’ve seen. And he’s quite a short guy, so to get on the end of so many crosses, it shows you what a player he is.”
The Japanese striker is well on track to hit 30 goals in all competitions for the Hoops this season.
It’s huge praise for someone with Mooy’s Premier League and international experience to say that about the striker due to some of the talent he has played alongside and against.
Mooy was given a rendition of his song at the end of the game and revealed that his teammates get a bit of a kick when they put him in the limelight.
“Yeah, the boys like to take the mickey! They know I’m a bit uncomfortable when the limelight is on me, so they get a bit of a buzz out of it.”
The Australian international will hope that it’s the first of many pieces of silverware during his Celtic career and revealed how special a moment it was for him personally.
“It felt amazing to win a trophy so soon in my Celtic career. I was absolutely buzzing.
“I think we played really well in the first half against Rangers and started the second half well. We deserved to go 2-0 up. When they scored from the set piece, it became a bit more nervy – but we showed great resilience.

“The celebrations afterwards? I can’t tell you! I’ve got friends and family over, the kids will be excited to see the medal, so I’ll show them first. Someone said there haven’t been that many finals between Celtic and Rangers, which is a bit crazy.
“But it doesn’t get much better than winning a cup final at Hampden. It’s a special occasion, very special.”
