Celtic midfielder Aaron Mooy has been discussing his experience playing for the Celtic football club and the challenges it brings.

The Australian reflects on the pressure to perform and win that comes with playing for a demanding club like Celtic, and how this expectation can make winning more of a relief than a moment of exhilaration.

As an older player, Mooy is trying to maximize everything he does on the pitch, and he feels the support and intensity of the club’s fans in every match. Overall, Mooy’s comments offer a glimpse into the unique experience of playing for a storied club like Celtic and the expectations that come with it.

“I do enjoy it,” Mooy told The Scotsman.

“When we have a good game, my coffee in the morning tastes better. But until the game is won, I don’t enjoy it that much. Until the whistle goes and we’ve done our job. Everything you can feel in football, you feel it at Celtic. I’m enjoying the challenge and hopefully it can be a good season. But the heightened senses here really energise me.

“I’m getting a bit older so I’m trying to maximise everything I’m doing. Celtic is a club where you feel the support, you feel everything. I’m just taking it all in. Listen, this is a demanding club. Whenever I play, I’m under pressure to perform and win. That’s what the supporters expect. So when you win it is a feeling of relief more than exhilaration. I would say that is a hundred percent the case, especially in the big games. The first thing you feel is not joy or happiness, it is relief. Because you just did what you were meant to do. That’s something I’ve not experienced before in my career.”

Since returning from the winter World Cup with Australia, has been one of Celtic’s standout performers.

The midfielder’s technical ability, composure on the ball, and range of passing have all been on full display since joining the Scottish club, and he has quickly established himself as a key player in our midfield.

Mooy’s experience at the highest level of international football has undoubtedly helped him adjust to the demands of playing for a club like Celtic. His performances have been consistently excellent, and he has played a crucial role in helping the team continue their great form

Overall, Mooy’s contributions have been instrumental in Celtic’s recent successes, and as we head into the final stages of the season, he could still have more of an impact than he’s already made.
