Aberdeen has confirmed that Vaccine spot checks will be in place for Sunday’s fixture between the Dons and Celtic.

In an update put out to supporters this afternoon, they officially confirmed that Vaccine checks would be put in order with stewards and staff within the ground carrying out spot-checks on fans attending the game.

This will also affect the band of travelling Celtic support, who will head up north to watch Ange Postecoglou and his side on their travels this weekend.

A list of those who are exempt from the programme was also released:

  • Under 18’s
  • People who are not able to receive the vaccine for medical reasons
  • Participants in vaccine trials
  • Workers or volunteers at the venue or event

Aberdeen also state that they encourage all fans to try and bring a hard copy of their vaccination status.

Although the Vaccine passports are not fully enforced until the 18th of October, with the Scottish Government putting a ‘grace period’ in place, this is one of the first events we will see vaccine passports.

Many will be intrigued to see how this goes in terms of the speed fans are able to get into the stadium due to the time it might take to look at the documents or identifications on the day.
