Celtic have the chance to extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to five points when they host Ross County at Parkhead on Saturday.

The opportunity arises after Aberdeen’s dramatic 3-3 draw with Hibs at Easter Road midweek, a game that saw a chaotic six-minute finale in stoppage time.
With Aberdeen not playing until Sunday, Celtic can at least temporarily pull further clear at the top of the table before Hearts look to defeat the Dons.
Jimmy Thelin’s side, who had a chance to go level on points with the Hoops, looked to have secured victory when Ester Školar’s spectacular strike gave them a 3-2 lead in added time. However, Rocky Bushiri’s last-gasp equaliser rescued a point for the home side, denying Aberdeen the chance to close the gap.
Celtic come into the match against Ross County on the back of a commanding 4-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle. Second-half goals from Kyogo Furuhashi, Nicolas Kuhn, and a brace from Adam Idah secured the points and underlined the champions’ dominance. Brendan Rodgers’ men are unbeaten in the league this season and will be looking to maintain that momentum at Parkhead.
Meanwhile, Aberdeen’s ‘title challenge’ has hit a couple of stumbling blocks. They suffered their first league defeat of the season last weekend, falling 2-1 to St Mirren in Paisley. The Dons now face another tough test this Saturday as they travel to Tynecastle to take on Hearts.
After hosting Ross County, the Hoops will travel to Pittodrie on Wednesday for a head-to-head showdown with Aberdeen. With a game in hand still to play, Celtic have a golden opportunity to widen the gap at the top as the festive fixtures approach.
