Aberdeen legend Willie Miller was very critical of Celtic keeper Joe Hart after the Dons were thumped 4-0.

He blasted the performance of his former side in Glasgow after they conceded four goals without reply on what was another disappointing day.

It looked as though Aberdeen’s game plan was out the window after they quickly went two goals down within 13 minutes.

During the match, the away side didn’t get too many opportunities but Jonny Hayes was gifted two chances by Joe Hart but failed to punish the keeper.

Celtic were in fine form in front of goal and will go into the Viaplay Cup Final next week hoping to win the first silverware of the season against rivals Rangers.

Miller was impressed by Ange Postecoglou’s team once again describing the victory as an “easy afternoon” for the Hoops but frustrated at Aberdeen’s approach to the game.

“There weren’t any opportunities (for Aberdeen) other than possibly Joe Hart being their best and most dangerous player with some of his clearances at times, really switching off and not concentrating properly,” said miller speaking on [BBC SPORTSOUND].

“He gave Jonny Hayes two opportunities actually to find the back of the net but that would not have made any difference at all. The first half they were ripped apart, Aberdeen.

“Two-nil going on for or five and if it had been that, then there would have been no complaints from anybody because that is what Celtic deserved. Sometimes they can do that, create chances and they don’t take enough of them perhaps.

“The second half, the pace went down and the tempo went down, but they were still in total control of the game and Aberdeen really struggled. You’ve got to have some way of making Celtic think and they didn’t have that plan.

“There were five defenders right across the line and mostly lying deep and not pushing anywhere close to the halfway line to try and close the gap. So it was never going to be anything other than an easy afternoon for Celtic.”

Many would point the finger at Hoops defender Carl Starfelt for one of the errors as he played a really poor back pass to his keeper which was difficult for Hart to control.

He wasn’t called into action too many times and once again kept a clean sheet on what was a comfortable afternoon for the league leaders who ticked off another game on the charge for another league title.
