Celtic star Jota has been praised by Aberdeen’s Duk who recently made the switch to Pittodrie from Benfica last summer.

The 22-year-old lit up Pittodrie at the weekend as he was on the scoresheet twice to give the Dons their first win since the return after the World Cup break.

He will next go up against Rangers in the Viaplay Cup semi final at Hampden Park and has hinted that he may seek advice from his former Benfica youth teammate Jota who has already bagged a goal against the Ibrox side this season in the 4-0 derby demolition back in September.

Jota was also on the scoresheet at the weekend for the Hoops against Kilmarnock as he grabbed his first goal since scoring a wonderful free kick in the Santiago Bernabeu in early November.

Both players appear to have a decent relationship as Duk revealed that he reached out to Jota before making the switch to Scotland last July.

“Yes, we played together in the under-19s and in the youth league. He is a good player and I keep in touch with him,” said Duk as quoted by The Herald.

“I spoke to him before I moved to Aberdeen in the summer. I asked him about the league and about Scotland. He told me it was too cold!”

Many Celtic fans had worried that during the summer months that the Portuguese winger would not make his stay in Glasgow a permanent one but he appears to have become a bit of an expert agent when attracting other players to the league.
